كشفت تقارير صحفية بريطانية، أن نادي تشيلسي الإنجليزي يسعى للتعاقد مع الدولي الإسباني، سامو أوموروديون، لاعب فريق أتلتيكو مدريد خلال فترة الانتقالات الصيفية الجارية.

صحيفة “ديلي ميل” البريطانية، أفادت بأن تشيلسي يعرض 30 مليون جنيه إسترليني، للتعاقد مع سامو أوموروديون صاحب الـ20 عامًا، وينتظر رد النادي الإسباني.
وأشارت التقارير إلى أن هذه الصفقة منفصلة عن انتقال كونور جالاجير القريب جدًا من الانضمام إلى أتلتيكو مدريد قادمًا من تشيلسي، مقابل 33.7 مليون إسترليني.
أوموروديون يتواجد حاليًا في دورة الألعاب الأولمبية باريس 2024، مع المنتخب الإسباني الأولمبي، وكان قد سجل هدفًا واحدًا في البطولة، في مرمى مصر بدور المجموعات.
انضم أوموروديون إلى أتلتيكو مدريد في صيف 2023 بعقد لمدة 5 سنوات قادمًا من غرناطة، وتمت إعارته لـ ديبورتيفو ألافيس في الموسم الماضي.

ويذكر التقرير أن أندية الدوري السعودي المهتمة بصلاح ودي وبروين قد تنتظر حتى يناير على الأقل.

Santos FC's Marcos Leonardo has firmly established himself as Marcelo Faria Fernandes’ best-performing offensive player so far this season (WhoScored – Santos statistics), and the 20-year-old’s impressive form has caught the eye of the board at the Emirates Stadium.
Back in October, Brazil’s youth international was the subject of interest from chiefs in the capital who were at the time considering making an offer for him, and if the following update is to be believed, the club have now taken their admiration one step further prior to the upcoming window opening.

Since the start of his career, Leonardo has posted 65 contributions, 54 goals and 11 assists, in 167 appearances across all age levels, showing how prolific he can be in the final third, and how he’s constantly able to pose a threat to the opposition’s defence (Transfermarkt – Leonardo statistics).

The Magpies made a welcome return to winning ways on Saturday afternoon, with a 3-0 victory coming their way at home to Fulham in the Premier League. It has been a tough week for the club, however, with their exit from the Champions League hugely disappointing, especially as they went out of Europe completely, not even dropping into the Europa League.
There have been rumours suggesting that Howe is under pressure to keep his job at St James' Park, with owners PIF not promising him that he will still be in charge next season. In fact, Jose Mourinho has even been talked up as a potential successor to the Englishman at Newcastle, suggesting that a change could be possible in 2024.
Howe may know that his job should remain safe as long as he gets good results and gradually guides his team up the Premier League table, though, with domestic cup glory also something that could do wonders for him.

Speaking to Caught Offside, Romano dropped a key update over Howe's future as Newcastle boss, saying his job is safe currently, and he hasn't heard anything different, with the Magpies "very happy" regarding the Englishman.

"I am not aware of any plans to part ways with Howe. I can say for sure the club are very happy with their manager. Everybody is pulling in the same direction and working toward the same goal. I have not heard any suggestions that Howe will be told to leave Newcastle United.”
It is only right that Howe shouldn't find himself in any danger of losing his job at the moment, considering the impact he has made at Newcastle since coming in, guiding them back into the Champions League and playing some excellent football along the way.
While some results and performances have not been up to scratch this season, the injuries that the Magpies have suffered has played a huge role in their struggles. Any manager would find it difficult to be consistent without so many important players available, with the likes of Nick Pope, Sven Botman, Dan Burn, Joe Willock, Callum Wilson and Alexander Isak all missing for significant periods, among others.

With no European football moving forward, meaning longer breaks between games, we could see a different Newcastle in the second half of the season, assuming the injury woes clear up and Howe is able to name a settled starting lineup week in, week out.
Should that happen, it is easy to envisage the Magpies making another top-four push in the league, and if their manager achieves that once again, there surely won't be any talk of him being replaced next summer.

The handling of the disciplinary issue involving Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul, suspended for comments made on a TV talk show, has created another flashpoint in the differences between the two members of the Committee of Administrators. While CoA chairman Vinod Rai wants Rahul Johri, the BCCI chief executive officer, to conduct the initial inquiry, Diana Edulji has said it should be done by a committee comprising the CoA and the BCCI’s office-bearers.Edulji has been firmly against Johri conducting the inquiry considering the “grave sexual allegations” against him last year. A three-member ad-hoc inquiry committee did not find him guilty of those charges and he was cleared to resume work.In yet another series of email exchanges, Rai assured Edulji that his insistence upon conducting a quick inquiry should not be seen as a “cover up” but he did not want the players’ careers to be affected badly. “Please be assured that the desire to conduct the inquiry is not from a desire to ‘cover up’,” Rai said in an e-mail on Monday to Edulji. “The interest of cricket in India has to be borne in mind. The off the ground act of the players was deplorable. It was crass as I said immediately after reading the comments. However, BCCI is not in the business of ending young careers for ‘off the ground’ activities.BCCI members want to pick Ombudsman
Several of the BCCI’s members – the state associations – have called for a special general meeting (SGM) within 10 days with the “expedient” agenda of appointing the Ombudsman, which they say can only be done by the board’s members. This decision comes on the back of the meeting between prominent representatives of several state associations last Friday when they decided to bring the divisions within the CoA to the Supreme Court’s attention. The members also highlighted the “double standards” that were exercised by Vinod Rai in dealing with the allegations of sexual misconduct by Johri and the suspension of Pandya and Rahul. Instead of the CoA deciding on the Ombudsman, the members feel they have the right to make the choice under the constitution.
“It is our responsibility to reprimand them, take corrective action, sensitise them of their misdemeanour and then get them back on to the ground once they have suffered the consequences. We have shamed them by recalling them from an ongoing tour. We have suspended them from further games. We need to correct them and not bring their career to a cul de sac by indefinitely delaying a decision. These misdemeanours require swift action, with a corrective approach.”Pandya and Rahul were suspended on the eve of the first ODI of the Australia series for their controversial comments on popular entertainment chat show and given a week to send in explanations of their actions. The show was recorded last year and broadcast on January 6. Both players have written to the CoA and the BCCI CEO, “profusely” apologising for their conduct and saying they will make amends. Last week the board’s legal team suggested that both players should be suspended pending an inquiry, which should be conducted by Johri followed by an ad-hoc Ombudsman – the BCCI has not filled in the Ombudsman’s position since late 2016 – issuing the final ruling as per the BCCI constitution.While Edulji opposed the appointment of an ad-hoc Ombudsman, saying the BCCI constitution does not support such a role, she had suggested to Rai that the inquiry should be done by CoA and the three office bearers or the CoA and the acting BCCI secretary Amitabh Choudhury.On Monday, Rai reiterated that although he would not stand in the way of Edulji sitting on such a formation, he would definitely not be part of it because he “perceived that as an act” against the board’s rules. “You want to form an inquiry committee with the office bearers to inquire into the misdemeanour of the players, you may feel free to do so, but keep me out of it.”The Supreme Court will be hearing the BCCI case on January 17 and Rai said if it didn’t take a call on the appointment of an Ombudsman, the CoA will then ask the amicus curiae Gopal Subramanium to do it.Rai and Edulji have differed on other aspects of the issue ever since the controversy broke. Rai was strongly in favour of dropping both players from the first two ODIs of the three-match series in Australia followed by an inquiry but also said that keeping the players out of the squad indefinitely would prove to “debilitate” the strength of the team. Edulji disagreed. “We should be in no hurry to conduct the inquiry as then it will look like a cover up job being done,” Edulji said in an e-mail to Rai on January 12.Rai feared prolonging the argument could hurt the interest of the Indian team and the “damage may be irreparable.” Edulji shot back, saying if Rai was trying to “pre-judge the outcome” of the inquiry by suggesting it be wrapped by the third ODI, which would be played on January 18. On Sunday, Edulji told Rai the court should be informed on the issue on Thursday and asked to appoint the new Ombudsman.
